Big news!
Over the past 8 months, I have been working on my first novel, book one of The Demands of Destiny. Today I can finally say that I have finished telling myself the story of Jaed and Maza. The first draft is done!
This milestone means so much to me. Before I began this project, I had never finished anything greater than a 7,000-word history essay for school – now (somehow) I have a manuscript on my hands that comes in just shy of 187,000 words. 187,000! I’m sure many of those will not survive the second draft, but I am still incredibly proud of reaching a word count that would have felt impossible in the beginning.
Now comes a much-needed break before diving into the editing and revising stage.
Thank you, all, for your continued support. From the Greenwood, to the mountains that hold back the Sand Sea, to the hilly north of the Kingdom of Algon, I can’t wait to share more of Sudamra and The Demands of Destiny with you as I begin the process of turning story into book.
